About Jeunesse Consciente du Bénin (JCB)
Our story, mission, values and governance: who we are and how a youth-led NGO in Parakou works for a responsible, united and dignified Benin.
Our story
JCB was founded on 12 November 2025 in Parakou by a group of young Beninese citizens attached to the values of citizenship, responsibility and solidarity. The organisation promotes civic education, civic spirit, responsible leadership, digital citizenship and youth entrepreneurship, with the ambition of creating a network of engaged young people in every commune of Benin.
- 12 November 2025: Constituent General Assembly in Parakou; election of the Board of Directors and the Audit Commission.

Where we work and whom we serve
JCB’s head office is in Parakou, in the Borgou department, where our field activities are concentrated today. We plan to deploy a network of engaged young people in every commune of Benin progressively, opening a new base only after real, verified action on the ground.
We serve first of all pupils, students and out-of-school youth, young people looking for work or entering the job market, young entrepreneurs, young people exposed to digital risks such as cybercrime and disinformation, and the local communities that support youth: families, schools and communal authorities.
Governance and transparency
JCB is run by four statutory bodies: the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, the Audit Commission and the Executive Direction. Our governance rests on transparency, accountability, participation, integrity and respect for statutory and regulatory texts. A multidisciplinary team of volunteers, each with a specific responsibility, supports the implementation of our activities. Meet our team (page in French).
